4 days Selous camping safari will take us to the largest park in Tanzania, Nyerere national park, which was part of Selous game reserve. Nyerere national park as was known as Selous will give us chance for 4 days Selous camping safari while exploring this hidden treasure. 4 day Selous camping safari will lead us to Selous/Nyerere national park to explore nature and wildlife at Selous/Nyerere national park
Nyere national park is a home for wild dogs, elephants, zebras, warthogs, leopards, hippos, and many species of gazelles such as topi, great kudu, impalas, and etc. Hippos are highly seen roaming at the Rufiji River. 4 days of Selous camping safari will also give you a chance to cruise the might Rufiji river which is among the biggest river in Tanzania and Africa, pouring its water into the Indian ocean.
Note: boat tour will only be conducted once the road is passable. Sometimes these is problem with the road to the river.
Our Selous Camping Safari Itinerary
DAY 1: DAR ES SALAAM – SELOUS
What to do:
- Pick up from Dar es Salaam by 4×4 vehicle to Selous.
- You will use approximately 4 hours drive.
- On arrival to Selous you will drive for hot lunch at Ngalawa tented camp.
- After lunch you will depart for afternoon boat tour.
- Later in the evening drive for overnight at Mbega tented camp.
Meal plan: dinner, breakfast and lunch.
Highlights:
From Dar es Salaam to Selous is approximately 4 hours drive.
Lunch at Ngalawa tented camp.
Embark on afternoon boat tour.
Overnight at Jimbiza camp Site.
DAY 2: FULL DAY SELOUS
What to do:
- Accompany with an armed ranger depart for walking safari in the reserve.
- The sights and sounds (and smells) of walking safari are special treat that live long in your memory.
- The thrill of creeping up to animals to “shoot” them with the camera is great experience. Get back to the camp at 9am for breakfast then depart for game drive.
- You will participate in some classic style game drive while exploring the bush in open 4×4 vehicle.
- You will come across waterbuck, southern reed buck and bushbucks.
- Rare sable antelopes, lions and greater kudu are also frequent in this area.
- Later drive to Selous Mbega tented campsite for overnight.
Meal plan: dinner, breakfast and lunch.

Depart for full day game drive
Overnight at Jimbiza camp Site.
DAY 3: FULL DAY SELOUS
What to do:
- Enjoy your breakfast and depart for full day game drive.
- You will come across reed buck and bushbucks, rare sable antelopes, lions and greater kudu.
- Lunch will be taken at picnic site. Later drive for overnight at Selous Kinga lodge.
Meal plan: dinner, breakfast and lunch.

- Early breakfast followed by full day game drive in Selous.
- Lunch at picnic site.
- Overnight at Jimbiza camp Site.
DAY 4: SELOUS – DAR ES SALAAM
- Enjoy your breakfast as from 6:30am then start driving to Dar es Salaam.
- You will be dropped at Dar es Salaam.
